Site workspace
The Site workspace is for site-visit evidence and site orientation. Its current control is North angle. Plot dimensions, road side, road width, and setbacks are authored from the Site setup panel in Plans. After the Plot is saved, use Site Systems in Plans to create the compound fence, draw a manual compound run, and place or edit the front gate.
What belongs in Site?
Use Site when you need to review site evidence or set the project's north orientation. It is intentionally separate from the Plan authoring controls.
For plot and buildable-area setup, open Plot and setbacks. For levels, use Storeys.
Where do I set plot and setbacks?
- Open Plans.
- Open House tasks → Plot or House tasks → Setbacks, or open Site Systems and select the plot context.
- Use the Site setup panel to edit the Plot and Setbacks tabs.
The Site setup panel owns the plot width, depth, road side, road width, and setback values. Native walls can be authored before a plot exists; a plot adds site context and constraints without replacing those walls.
Why site context matters
Plot and setback values provide a visible site envelope for planning, review, and diagnostics. They do not replace the active Plan level or the structural wall type required by the Wall tool.
Typical first-project order
- Create a project.
- Draw or place the initial shell in Plans after choosing a structural wall type.
- Configure plot, road, and setbacks in Site setup when that context is known.
- Add additional levels from Plans → Level Actions → Add level.
- Continue with openings, Structure, supported construction outputs, Finishes, and the remaining project outputs.
You can configure the plot earlier; the order is not a hard prerequisite for native wall authoring.
Troubleshooting
“Why do I see only North angle here?”
That is expected in the Site workspace. Open Plans for the Site setup panel.
“Why is there no plot on the Plan canvas?”
Open Site setup → Plot, enter width and depth, and choose Create plot. If the plot already exists, use Update plot.
“Why can I not edit a surveyed boundary?”
A boundary supplied by surveyed evidence may be read-only. Review the source evidence or create the editable plot context offered by Site setup.
