Array tool

Shortcut: none — select Array in the Modify group Toolbar: Modify group

Repeat what you have already drawn: make evenly spaced copies of a selection, either in a line or in a grid.

Prerequisites

  • At least one item selected. Array copies a selection — it does not draw anything on its own.

Workflow

  1. Select the items you want to repeat.
  2. Choose Array in the Modify group.
  3. Set the copy spacing.
  4. Review the proposed copies before applying them.
  5. Confirm to apply. Press Esc to exit without applying.

Linear and grid arrays

ArrayWhat you set
LinearA count, and the offset between copies
GridA column count and a row count

Use a linear array for a run of repeated elements, and a grid array when copies repeat in two directions.
