Corner close tool
Shortcut: C
Toolbar: Modify group
Close a near-miss corner where two wall endpoints almost meet. Jodu extends the walls to their axis intersection.
Prerequisites
Two wall endpoints must be within 0.3 m (300 mm) and their walls must have a usable intersection. Parallel walls cannot be corner-closed.
Workflow
- Press C or choose Corner close.
- Move near the gap between the two endpoints.
- When the candidate marker appears, click to close the corner.
If no candidate appears, the endpoints are outside the threshold or the walls do not intersect.
Scenario — joining an offset envelope corner (9.0 × 7.5 m house)
After offsetting a wall face by 230 mm, the endpoint pair at a corner is close but not clean. Press C, move to the gap, and click the candidate. Repeat at the other corners. If a gap is larger than 300 mm, choose TrimExtend mode instead of Corner close.
Why nothing happened
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No near corner found | The gap is larger than 0.3 m | Use Trim Extend or draw a connecting wall |
| Walls are parallel | They do not have a usable intersection | Redraw or extend one wall to a crossing geometry |
| Marker does not appear | No eligible pair is within range | Check the endpoints and zoom in to inspect them |
